Our father, Allan Millard, the youngest brother to
Albert and Leonard; a successful businessman in
his own right and the proprietor of the well-known
and still thriving after 60 years, Loch Fyne Shellfish
Bar in Glasgow’s Barrowlands; brought his
acumen to the Millers Group in 1981 and, along
with our mother, Eliza Millard, took the business
from strength to strength.

The business is currently directed by myself and
my brother, Stephen Millard, with our father
having retired from the Group in 1995. We were,
and remain, exceptionally honoured to be able to
contribute towards the continuing development
of the business, and to preserve our family legacy.
There have been many more accomplishments in
Leith Walk
recent years.

Flooring HQ, Wholesale & Distribution, in Edinburgh, was set up in
2008 to support our retail business in Leith Walk, now trading as
Millers Flooring Specialists, and to serve other local, retail businesses.

In 2013, our brand, Millers 1893, was created and the total
refurbishment of our 1913 premises in Bridgeton Cross was
completed, with the unveiling of our Industry original Design Studio
for Interior Designers and Architects.

In addition, the business purchase of Cameron Bell Flooring in
Glasgow’s West End was concluded the following year, to
compliment our supply and fit business at Millers Specialist Flooring
in Edinburgh.

With Stephen as the Managing Director of our retail businesses,
Millers Flooring Specialists and Cameron Bell Flooring, and myself in
the role of Managing Director of Flooring HQ and Millers 1893, we
continue to look to the future and the exciting opportunities afforded
by the wealth of exclusive products from across Europe, the
advancement of hand finished hardwood flooring in Scotland and
Branding over the years
the weaving of carpet by Scottish weavers, using Scottish wool.

Now with over 60 years’ experience in the industry between us, we remain driven by the history of the business
and the resolute efforts of the generations that have preceded us, as we work to ensure that our business
prospers for many years to come.
Like our Great Grandfather, our determination is unwavering and we look forward to seeing our own visions for
the Millers Group evolve.
